Eligibility Criteria for IISc Recruitment 2024 for Clinical Psychologist Position

Educational Qualifications for IISc Recruitment 2024

• M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology
• M.Phil in Clinical Psychology
• Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology

• Client consultation and identify psychological, emotional or behavioural issues.

• Work with student communities, staff and their dependents to improve psychological wellness and to address mental health issues.
• Help students define goals, plan, action, and gain insight.
• Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, and family therapies.
• Provides crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
• Help clients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment.
• Monitor client progress through regular meetings or sessions.

Duration and Contract Terms

Engagement is purely temporary on a contract basis, initially for a period of one year and renewable annually up to a maximum duration of five years, based on the satisfactory performance and discretion of authorities of the Institute. Contract tenure will commence from the date of joining. An increment up to a maximum of 10% annually may be admissible in case of an extension of the contract, based on the performance and the recommendation of the Chairperson, Wellness Centre.

Submission of Online Application

4. The shortlisted candidates will be informed through e-mail about the date & time of the selection process. Candidates are also advised to provide the correct information in their application.
5. If required, the electronic mode of interview (Zoom Call/ Microsoft Team) will be conducted and the same will be intimated to the candidates in advance. It is advised that the candidates should be prepared to give interviews in all the medium, if so required.
6. In case the interview is held in person, no TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
7. Candidates may please ensure that they are fulfilling all the requisite criteria prior to registering, failing which, their candidature is liable to be rejected/cancelled.

General Instructions

1. The Candidate must possess the essential prescribed qualifications on or before the last date of submitting the application.
2. Clinical Psychologists will be engaged on a full-time contract basis with remuneration as mentioned.
3. Qualifications other than one prescribed in this advertisement will not be accepted.
4. Engagement on a contract basis would be subject to medical fitness.
5. Selection for the post does not entitle any claim whatsoever of permanency or regularization against any regular post or any vacancy arising in the future in this or any other cadre/post on the basis of this service. The Institute can fix the consolidated salary lower/ higher in the given range depending on qualification and experience.
6. Except the consolidated and fixed emoluments, no other benefits will be extended.
7. No claim for any service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Seniority &
8. Promotion, etc. from this contract appointment will be admissible.
9. The contract can be terminated at any time by giving one month’s notice, by either side.
10. Candidature/contract of candidate(s) submitting false certificates or suppression/submission of incorrect information shall be liable for termination/disqualification/rejection at any stage.
11. Prescribed educational qualifications and experience are the minimum eligibilities required and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same shall not entitle him/her for being called for a written test/interview. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the no. of candidates admitted for the interview to a reasonable number, based on qualifications and/or experience.
12. Applications should be sent well in advance, without waiting till the last date.
13. Experience is relaxable by the selection committee as deemed fit.
14. Call letters to attend written test or interview or both will be sent only to the shortlisted candidates by e-mail. Candidates are required to check their registered e-mail ID frequently. No correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed/not called for the interview.
