Merchant Navy Recruitment 2024 : The Indian Merchant Navy is currently recruiting for 4000 vacancies for the positions of Seamen and Mess Boys. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online through the official Indian Merchant Navy website before the deadline on April 30, 2024.
The written examination comprises 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying 1 mark. No marks will be awarded for unanswered questions.
The exam level is up to 10th & 12th standard/grade.
The examination will be conducted in bilingual (English & Hindi).
There will be no negative marking.
During online application submission, candidates must carefully select their preferred examination center.
Once a center is chosen, it cannot be changed under any circumstances. Candidates must indicate their chosen center accurately in their application.
SMA reserves the right to cancel any center and require affected candidates to appear at another center. They also reserve the right to redirect candidates from one center to another for the examination.

Applications should be submitted only through online registration by logging on to the official website www.sealanemaritime.in. Applications will not be accepted through any other mode.
Wrong information in any column may lead to the application getting rejected altogether.
Before submitting the online application, the candidates must preview the application to ensure that they have provided correct information, particularly the e-mail, phone number & uploaded correct photograph. The online application should be submitted only after ensuring that the information and photographs are correct.
The application portal will be operational from 11 Mar 2024 to 30 Apr 2024 till 12:00 PM midnight. Any registration done prior to 11 Mar 2024 to 30 Apr 2024 will not be accepted.
Candidates are advised to register well in time since the application portal witnesses a huge number of applications during the closing date.
Before submission of the online application, candidates must check that they have filled correct details. No modification is allowed under any circumstances.
Application form fee Rs. 100/- is applicable once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
Selection Process for Merchant Navy Recruitment 2024 : Seamen & Mess boys job?
A candidate has to first appear for a written test.
Candidates who qualify in the written test will further appear for the personal round with guardian for counselling or registration of SMA registered office at Gorakhpur (UP). Date & timing for the counselling/registration will be mentioned in the call letter which will be uploaded on the website.
Based on the combined performance of the written test and personal round of counselling/registration, candidates would be shortlisted for final selection subject to successful completion of their character antecedent verification followed by medical test.
